If you are frightened to smile as you are bothered about the heightened appearance of your gums then your life can be really affected. Botox ( Botulinum Toxin ) is also a great treatment for Lip Lines or smokers lines.

9. Botox for Neck (Platysma Bands) – Ageing muscle neck lines/bands.

‘Botox may smooth and firm the skin around the Jaw & Neck area”.

Botox ( Botulinum Toxin ) injections may effectively smooth and firm the skin in the jaw and neck region. By targeting the platysmal band muscles, these injections can elongate the bands, thereby enhancing the overall appearance of both the neck and jawline.

As we age, the neck frequently becomes one of the most visible areas reflecting the signs of ageing, and it is also notoriously challenging to treat. Deep lines and sagging skin accumulate around the neck, and these changes can be more apparent than those on the face, as they cannot be concealed with makeup. For many individuals, prominent neck wrinkles can be a source of significant distress, becoming increasingly noticeable with emotional expressions.

At BOTOX LONDON, our injections are designed to smooth and firm the skin surrounding the neck, effectively reducing the appearance of rings and horizontal lines. This rejuvenation can result in a younger-looking neck, making it more difficult for others to ascertain your age and significantly enhancing your self-confidence.

Rupesh employs an innovative technique that entails administering multiple Botox ( Botulinum Toxin ) injections horizontally along the lower jawline and vertically down the sides of the neck, specifically targeting the platysmal bands. These bands contribute to the downward pull on the lower face, exacerbating the appearance of jowls.

The intended outcome of this procedure is to enhance jawline definition, relax the jowls, and provide an uplifting effect in both the neck and jaw areas. Similar to facial treatments, the effects generally last between three to four months.

10. Botox for Hyperhidrosis – Excessive sweating in areas such as forehead, the palms of the hands and underarms area.

Botox ( Botulinum Toxin ) can be administered to people who sweat excessively from their armpits. It may also be used “off-label” to reduce sweating in other areas which cause Excessive Sweating, such as the hands, feet, and face. The aim is to reduce the production of sweat at sweat glands.

11. Botox for Smokers Lines

“Botox Injections diminish Smoker’s Lines”.

The vertical lines above your mouth can be relaxed using Botox ( Botulinum Toxin ) injections. Fine lines on the upper lip, also known as ‘Smoker’s Lines’, are not just a tell-tale sign of smoking. With the mouth being a very busy area of the face as it is where we directly speak and eat, it is little wonder that many of us succumb to tell-tale lines and wrinkles around this area. Increasing over time as we naturally produce less Collagen and Hyaluronic Acid, small lines deepen and become more obvious. This can result in make-up sitting in the creases, so drawing even more attention to the area. Please note Botox ( Botulinum Toxin ) will not affect your marionette lines .

12. Botox for Lip Flip

“Botox Lip Flip enhances your natural look with fuller, poutier lips”.

The latest craze is to have a Lip Flip. The Botox Lip Flip involves the precise placement of just a few units of botox ( Botulinum Toxin ) along the upper lip muscle, near the border, to relax and “flip” the lip to make more of the upper lip body visible. This creates a fuller, plumper, but natural-appearing upper lip.

WHAT TYPE OF SURGERY IS BOTOX?

Botox Treatments in London Lip Clinic
Botox Treatments in London Lip Clinic

Botox is a Botulinum toxin type A used in non-surgical cosmetic treatments. It is classified as  surgical procedures. It is conducted in the clinic by an aesthetic doctor who will ask you to contract your muscle. It is classified  as a non surgical cosmetic treatments and do not require surgery carried out by plastic surgeons.

HOW BOTOX WORKS

BOTOX  ( botulinum toxin type a ) is a prescription-only medicine licensed for cosmetic use by medical professionals. It is one of the most popular treatments at our London clinic. Botox acts by blocking acetylcholine, a chemical that is responsible for transmitting electrical impulses that cause facial muscles to contract in your face. This results in muscle paralysis.

The resultant paralysis, however, is temporary, as the new growth of nerves will re-innervate the muscles. Hence Botox ( Botulinum Toxin ) treatment is not permanent. The anti-wrinkle injections are just beneath the skin, making Botox® the most popular aesthetic treatment due to the lack of downtime needed and proven results. For best results and to achieve natural results one has to find a really good experienced practitioner like Rupesh.

What Happens At My Botox Consultation?

BOTOX ( Botulinum Toxin ) consultation takes place face to face in our Harley Street Clinic. Facial areas of concern are assessed after their medical history and medical conditions are taken by Rupesh and the patient simultaneously using a handheld mirror during the initial consultation.

Asymmetries such as uneven eyebrow height and eye aperture are identified. Areas are prioritised and treatment options discussed, including anticipated results, effects of Botox and possible complications. Photographs are taken as with any aesthetic procedure. Dynamic wrinkles and static photographs of treatment areas are typically taken before treatment and two weeks after treatment, once clinical effects are evident. Botox will give you that youthful look your are wanting.

You will meet with Rupesh, our highly trained aesthetic practitioner at 8 Harley Street, London for an in-person assessment of your skin. Rupesh, your highly trained and experienced practitioner will discuss the following with you at this consultation:

  • The best options for treatment for you given condition, and the results that you would likely achieve with each treatment
  • An explanation of the treatment or treatment plan
  • Go through your past medical history
  • Answer any questions you may have
  • Invite you to return back to the clinic if required to see us after your treatment

Botox Procedure

Preparing for Botox ( Botulinum Toxin ) Injections: A Professional Guide

In anticipation of receiving botulinum neurotoxin (commonly known as Botox) treatment, it is advisable to take certain precautions to minimise the risk of bruising. Specifically, it is recommended to discontinue the use of aspirin, as well as any medications or dietary supplements with anticoagulant properties, at least two weeks prior to the procedure.

Administering the ( Botulinum Toxin ) Injectable Treatment:

Botox (botulinum toxin type A) is administered directly into the targeted muscles responsible for wrinkle formation, employing an exceptionally fine needle. The number of injections will vary based on the specific area being treated, which may include the frown lines, forehead, crow’s feet, and bunny lines, among others. In cases where Botox is utilised to address excessive sweating in the armpits, the injection is delivered directly into the axillary skin. Patients may experience mild discomfort and bruising, but they can typically resume their normal daily activities immediately after the procedure.

Determining the Appropriate Dosage:

Botox ( Botulinum Toxin ) treatment is tailored to meet individual aesthetic goals and needs. During your consultation with Rupesh, he will evaluate the areas you wish to enhance, which may include moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines.

Specific Injection Protocols:

**Forehead Lines:**

Approximately five injections will be administered into the muscles of the forehead.

**Crow’s Feet:**

Around three injections will be made into the muscles framing each eye, ensuring even distribution.

**Frown Lines:**

Roughly five injections will be performed in the muscles situated between your eyebrows and within the forehead area.

**Lip Flip:**

For a lip flip treatment, Rupesh will generally administer four injections into the muscles situated above the upper lip, near the vermillion border. If you have any further questions about the procedure or your specific treatment plan, please do not hesitate to ask.

BOTOX OFFERS LONDON

On average three ares of Botox is £285 for women and £300 for men. We only create natural-looking results.

Hardly anyone suffers from allergic reactions. We do not inject higher doses the first time as we do not want you to develop an immune response to the drug. Botox ( Botulinum Toxin ) is injected into specific areas after marking out injection points. The aim of the treatment is to relax the injected muscle.

What is Botox and how does it work?

Botulinum toxin (BTX) is a neurotoxic protein produced by the bacterium “Clostridium botulinum” and related species. It is also produced commercially for medical, cosmetic, and research use. There are two main commercial types: botulinum toxin type A and botulinum toxin type B. Botulinum toxin types A and B are used in medicine for, among others, upper motor neuron syndrome, focal hyperhidrosis, blepharospasm, strabismus, chronic migraine and bruxism.

What is Botox used for?

Botox – botulinum toxin can be used for medical conditions. At our clinic we use Botox purely for cosmetic reasons.

Medical Body Botox Examples include:

  • Cervical dystonia.
  • Lazy eye.
  • Muscle contractures.
  • Hyperhidrosis.
  • Chronic migraine.
  • Bladder dysfunction.
  • Eye twitching.

How does it work?

Botox itself is a purified protein made by the botulism bacteria, similar to the way penicillin is made from mould. It works by blocking the action of acetylcholine, thereby relaxing your muscles.

Can Botox look natural?

Depending on who is injecting the botulinum toxin injections, some things, like cosmetic procedures, should go unnoticed. Meaning, that Rupesh would much prefer you look more natural, and like yourself, rather than over-done. We would rather inject too little, so patients can come back for a small touch up, rather than too much where you run into more risks of looking fake.

What is Botox made of?

Botox anti-wrinkle treatment is an injectable drug made from botulinum toxin type A. This toxin is produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum.

Who invented Botox?

Vancouver ophthalmologist Jean Carruthers and her husband, Alastair Carruthers, a dermatologist doctor, pioneered the cosmetic use of botulinum toxin, or Botox, in the late 1980s.

What was it used for originally?

Whilst we use botulinum toxin injections (Botox) for cosmetic purposes, Botox also has many useful medical applications.

It was originally used in the 1960s to help realign crossed eyes. It’s now used in the treatment of many medical conditions including facial tics, cerebral palsy, muscle spasms, migraines and strokes.

Botox: For Who and When?

Best age to get Botox:

It’s not your age that determines when BOTOX ( Botulinum Toxin ) is right for you, it’s the severity of your lines. We are seeing a rise in injectable treatments for patients in their early 30’s at London Lip Clinic.

The truth is, everyone’s lines form differently. The timing can be influenced by a combination of factors, from cellular changes that may occur over time, to the reduction of collagen, to genetic factors, or damage caused by free radicals from the sun and the environment.

Whenever your lines start to bother you, come and speak to Rupesh. He can help you determine if BOTOX treatment is right for you.

Does the Botox injectable treatment work for everyone?

The 3 reasons why BOTOX ( botulinum toxin injections ) will not work for you:

  • You are not getting enough units
  • You are not being injected correctly
  • You have developed antibodies

How do you know if you need Botox?

Good candidates for Botox wrinkle treatment include men and women who are physically healthy, realistic in their expectations, and interested in improving the appearance of forehead creases, glabellar lines and crow’s feet. Botox may not be appropriate for individuals with certain neuromuscular disorders like ALS, myasthenia gravis or Lambert-Eaton syndrome.

Who should not use Botox ( Botulinum Toxin )?

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding women
  • People with neuromuscular diseases
  • People allergic to human albumin
  • Allergic to Botulinum Toxin

Effectiveness of BOTOX

How long does Botox last?

When the effect of the Botox injection wears off, the wrinkles will always return to their pre-treatment state. Treatments can be repeated at a minimum of three monthly intervals, but the effects may last longer for some individuals, especially if they have had previous treatments to the same area.

How long does it last the first time?

If you’re a having Botox ( Botulinum Toxin ) treatment for the first time you may find that your results may not last as long. It takes a while before the injections fully achieve their desired, lasting results. Through repeated Botox injections, your specific facial muscles become conditioned, and the results will start to last longer. Botox on average lasts 3-4 months.

What botox lasts the longest?

We find that the SUPER clinical results and longevity we get using the category leader(1) Allergan BOTOX following the wrinkle treatment makes BOTOX ( Botulinum Toxin ) work best for us. There is a major difference in prices between the brands as well. Make sure you know and ask your practitioner what toxin they are using before booking your treatment if you plan to visit other clinics.

Botulinum toxin products in the UK: Botox®, Vistabel®, Dysport® , Azzalure®, Xeomin® and Bocouture®. Please note these botulinum toxin products are not interchangeable.

How long after the injection to see results?

It usually takes between 5-14 days before the full effects of the treatment can be enjoyed. These results will last 2-4 months. As well as making you look fresher and younger, they can also make people appear more relaxed and less tired too. Botox does not give results immediately.

Why does it take time to work?

Botox ( Botulinum Toxin ) takes time to work because it must reach the cellular level of the muscle in order to block the neurotransmitters in the nerve, eventually causing the paralysation of the muscle.

There are a couple of reasons that this timing varies from patient to patient:

  • Area of treatment
  • Muscle thickness
  • The volume of Botox used

Why Botox sometimes doesn’t work?

The 3 reasons why BOTOX will not work for you:

  • You are not getting enough units
  • You are not being injected correctly
  • You have developed antibodies

There are alternative treatments such as dermal fillers if you are not suitable for Botox.

Botox Aftercare

Patients are advised to avoid lying down following treatment for four hours. They are also advised to avoid massaging or applying heat to the treatment area, and to avoid activities that cause flushing (such as exercising heavily, consuming alcohol, and hot tub, sauna, etc) on the day of treatment. These aftercare practices are used to reduce potential spread of the BOTOX toxin and ensures an effective treatment.

To allow the BOTOX ( Botulinum Toxin ) to work optimally in the target muscle, the following precautions are usually suggested:

  • No rubbing or massaging of the injection site for 4 hours after treatment, including facials.
  • No strenuous exercise for 24 hours after treatment.
  • Keep upright for 4 hours — no lying on your front.
  • Avoid headwear that is tightly fitted across the forehead.
  • Avoid excessive alcohol or medically necessary blood thinning medication before the treatment to prevent bruising.

What to expect after the injection?

Partial reduction in function of the targeted muscles is seen by the third or fourth day after botulinum neurotoxin toxin injection, with maximal reduction visible two weeks after injection. Return of muscle function is gradual, typically three to four months after treatment. Subsequent Botox ( Botulinum Toxin ) treatment is advised when muscle contraction is visible in the treatment area before facial lines return to their pretreatment appearance. After multiple Botox treatments, botulinum toxin (Botox) effects may be prolonged and, for some patients, treatment intervals can be extended beyond three to four months.

What does Botox feel like when it kicks in?

Botox ( Botulinum Toxin ) procedure will vary from person to person, and your first time Botox treatment will likely make you nervous. Well, we’ve got your back – Botox isn’t scary, and in our professional hands, you’ll have nothing to fear. If this is your first treatment, you may experience a “heavy” sensation in the treatment areas. Don’t worry! It will subside within 1-2 weeks. You may also experience feelings of tightness, and differences in your range of expressions. After two weeks you will look refreshed.

How painful is Botox?

Patients that have the injection with Rupesh report minimal discomfort. We use special needles imported from Germany.

How long does the bruise last? (and the injection marks)

Botox ( Botulinum Toxin ) injections in the upper face are, usually, an almost pain-free procedure. The needles used are very small and, with good technique, it is almost always possible to avoid causing bruising.

How long can Botox move after injection?

Botox ( Botulinum Toxin ) takes a few hours to bind to the injected muscles at the injection site. Until then it’s important to follow the aftercare instructions given to you. Do not lie down, keep upright for 4 hrs, do not bend over and no massage or sports are a few such things to avoid.

What to do and what to avoid after a Botox injection?

There are no studies that state that you should avoid certain foods before or after Botox treatment. Keeping hydrated with water is advised.

Any blood thinning medication or supplements can cause bruising. Alcohol and smoking can also thin your blood so should be best avoided. Follow the Botox Aftercare.

Does Botox look weird at first?

Botox ( Botulinum Toxin ) takes up to two weeks to settle down after being first injected. Until then the muscles might be at different stages of relaxation.

Risks and Side Effects

Botox injections and safety:

Botox ( Botulinum Toxin ) has a remarkably safe history. Any medication has risks, but the safety record for Botox is actually very robust.

Side effects & adverse reactions of Botox:

Many of these side effects can be avoided if proper injection techniques are used. The possibility of experiencing BOTOX injection side effects can be greatly reduced by choosing a qualified practitioner like Rupesh at London Lip Clinic who has extensive experience in performing the BOTOX injection procedure.

  • Mild numbness or tingling in the injection site
  • Minor swelling or bruising around the injection site
  • An allergic reaction to BOTOX
  • No improvement after undergoing treatment
  • Headache (temporary)
  • Nausea (temporary)
  • Drooping eyebrow or eyelid (usually temporary and can last two to three weeks)
  • Flu-like symptoms

The above is not an exhaustive list of side effects and risks. Talk to us if you wish to know more during the consultation.

            Does Botox cause weight gain?

Botox does not cause weight gain.

Do you look older after Botox wears off?

Normally, it doesn’t. However, if you take more of the recommended dosage or start injecting too much Botox too early in your life, the toxin used as the active ingredient can strain your skin and make you more prone to the signs of ageing.

            Can Botox cause insomnia?

Sleeping should not be affected by Botox ( Botulinum Toxin ). We have not heard that Insomnia is a side effect of Botox.

What happens if Botox migrates?

Complications and adverse reactions from Botox injections can occur by the botulinum toxin spreading to nearby muscles that were not intended to be targeted by the treatment.

In the upper face, this can cause temporary drooping of the eyelid or eyebrow. Because this usually happens as a result of a small amount of the botulinum toxin from the anti-wrinkle injections spreading to the wrong area, rather than a direct injection into the wrong area, it tends to wear off quite quickly – usually within a couple of weeks.

In the lower face and neck, it is possible for the toxin to diffuse into muscles which help to move the mouth, resulting in a lopsided smile. Rarely, Botox treatment in the neck can affect speech and ability to swallow.

Can Botox ruin your face?

Botox used in low but effective doses, does not ruin your face. This is a temporary paralysation of the microscopic muscle nerve endings. If you over-do botox, you run the risk of freezing your face, and having no movement when you show expression, and not looking like your natural self.

Will my eyebrows droop?

Eyebrow droop and other adverse reactions typically happens with inexperienced injectors, who lack knowledge of facial anatomy, perform proper injection placement and amount of units of Botox injected.  When Botox injections are injected into the wrong area, or too much Botox is injected into the wrong area, this can result in facial asymmetry, eyebrow drooping or eyelid drooping.

Always go to experienced injectors like Rupesh in London who provide the correct injection technique that will prevent these problems from happening.

Where does the Botox toxin go when it wears off?

The protein in botulinum toxin – Botox is metabolised by liver and kidney and excreted from your body in between three to six months after first injection.

To ensure you are least likely to suffer from any side effects please use an experienced medical practitioner like Rupesh who specialises in Aesthetic Medicine or plastic surgeon.

Botox long term effects

In rare events, patients can be exposed to toxin spread, and Botox can lead to an infection akin to botulism, can have severe side effects and must be treated immediately. Inexperienced injectors are in large part the cause of severe risk or long-term side effects during Botox injections, which is why it is essential you work with an experienced medical professional for any Botox injections or treatment.

When you stop using Botox

There may come a time when you need to take a break from your Botox–like when you’re pregnant or breastfeeding.  You’ll notice your lines coming back during those months that you aren’t having your regular Botox treatments.  Once you start your Botox treatments again, though, you’ll be smooth again.

If there is some reason you decide to never have Botox again, then you’ll find that the lines you’ve been preventing start to get deeper with muscle movement and eventually become creases in your skin. The benefits of your prior Botox treatments will eventually be gone.

Do you have to keep getting it once you start?

You can decide to stop having Botox at any point.

How often do you need the injection once you start?

The Botox treatment is only effective for about 12 weeks on average. There is some research which suggest after 2 yrs of having Botox, it may last for up to six months.

Botox safety long term

Botox ( Botulinum Toxin ) is licensed by the MHRA in UK and US by Food & Drug Administration.

Botulinum Toxin BOTOX as a muscle relaxant has an excellent safety record and a long record of use in medicine. It has been used successfully in adults and children in variety medical conditions over the last 40 years. It has been used cosmetically to treat facial wrinkles for about 20 years and has become one of the most popular and frequently used cosmetic treatments at our London Lip Clinic.

Does Botox ruin my muscles?

Over time, repeated injections of Botox to a particular area in the body can also cause permanent paralysis of the muscle.

Are Fillers better than Botox?

The main difference between the two treatments ( Botox & Dermal fillers ) is as follows: Botox contains purified bacteria that freezes the muscles. In doing so, Botox can help minimise the appearance of lines and wrinkles caused by your facial expressions. Dermal fillers contain ingredients that add fullness to areas that have thinned due to ageing and actually plumps the skin to tackle wrinkles and lines that have already appeared on your face. Hence both treatments tackle different concerns.

Both forms of treatment ( Botox & Dermal fillers ) are highly effective at helping to maintain a youthful appearance and working as a temporary anti-aging solution for both men and women. Faye from Love Island is a fan of lip fillers and Botox.

BOTOX DURING PREGNANCY & BREAST FEEDING

Botox ( Botulinum Toxin ) should not be used while nursing or pregnant. Botox injections are recognised as safe and, as yet, they have not been reported to transfer from mother to child. But, Botox injections contain neurotoxins that can be dangerous in large doses or for people allergic to these chemicals.

Disease or infection caused by botulinum toxins is called botulism. Botulism can be life-threatening, especially in pregnant women, infants, those who are immune-compromised or with gastrointestinal conditions. Though some research has found that botulinum toxins may be too large to cross the placenta during pregnancy, pregnant and nursing women are encouraged to avoid potential sources of the toxin, including certain foods. All infants should not be allowed to consume foods that are considered common sources of botulinum. Hence we do not administer BOTOX to pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Please note no aesthetic doctors will inject Botox during pregnancy and breast feeding.

BABY BOTOX

Baby Botox ( Botulinum Toxin ) is requested by a lot of nervous first timers. Baby Botox is simply injecting botox using a lower volume of Botox than a traditional injection to smooth fine lines and wrinkles. Traditionally we would inject around 25 units in an area, whilst if you carried out Baby Botox then you would only inject around 12 units. Most of our patients ask us to refresh their looks with all our injectable treatments so they simply look youthful. At our central London Botox London Thérapie clinic we do not want to create frozen looks.

BOTOX FOR MEN

BOTOX for Men: A Professional Treatment for Facial Lines and Wrinkles

BOTOX ( Botulinum Toxin ) is a highly effective treatment tailored for men seeking to address facial lines and wrinkles. An increasing number of male patients are opting for BOTOX® to mitigate the signs of ageing and skin damage, resulting in firmer, more youthful skin, enhanced appearance, and improved self-confidence. This treatment effectively smooths a variety of facial lines, from “crow’s feet” at the outer corners of the eyes to glabellar lines (the wrinkles between the brows), all achievable through a straightforward 15-minute procedure.

Preparation for BOTOX Treatment

Upon your arrival at our esteemed Central London Harley Street Clinic for your BOTOX injection treatment, you will be warmly welcomed by our receptionist and escorted to Rupesh’s consultation room. You will be required to complete patient information and other relevant forms prior to discussing your expectations for the procedure. At this stage, it is crucial to be forthright about any allergies or medical conditions that may affect your suitability for BOTOX treatment.

During the BOTOX Procedure

Rupesh will assess the areas to be treated by asking you to contract specific facial muscles. Based on your desired outcomes and the mobility of these muscles, he will delineate the precise locations for injection. Discomfort from the injections is typically minimal and transient. The actual BOTOX injection treatment generally lasts around 10 minutes. Following the completion of your BOTOX treatment, you are free to resume your daily activities almost immediately. It’s important to note that men typically have larger facial muscles, often necessitating nearly double the dose compared to that of women.

BOTOX RESULTS AND DURATION IN MEN

Following your BOTOX ( Botulinum Toxin ) injection treatment, you can expect to observe a significant improvement in the treated areas within just a few days. The appearance of wrinkles is likely to continue enhancing for up to a month following the procedure.

For men undergoing BROTOX treatment, the results typically last between three to four months. This duration is attributed to the gradual return of muscle activity, at which point wrinkles may begin to re-emerge, necessitating a touch-up treatment. It is important to note that it may require multiple sessions for your muscles to respond fully to the toxin. Clients often report that with repeated use of Brotox over time, the emergence of lines tends to slow, thereby extending the interval before a retouch is needed. This is largely because the skin has more time to regenerate the collagen necessary to fill in fine lines and wrinkles.

BOTOX ( Botulinum Toxin ) injections offer men a discreet means of enhancing facial aesthetics. It is worth noting that the doses required for men are generally slightly higher than those for women, resulting in a minor supplementary charge. At our Harley Street Clinic in London,

BOTOX is a highly sought-after treatment, enjoyed by both men and women alike.

Frequently Asked Questions

BOTOX, BOCOUTURE and Azzalure, are the three types of Botulinum Toxin Type A available for cosmetic use in the UK.

Botox is the most famous brand, mass-produced first in the 1990’s for treatment of facial aesthetic concerns.

Botox has more proteins; it is more like the natural product but may stimulate a greater immune response compared to the other products. Azzalure and Bocouture have fewer proteins, with Bocouture containing the least. This makes the product more “pure” but it may NOT contain all the properties conferred by Botox.

Make sure you know what is injected into your face. Allergan, Merz, and Galderma are three of the top manufacturers of neurotoxins and fillers—like Botox, Bocouture, Xeomin, Azzalure, and Dysport. We only use the original Allergan Botox at our clinic.

We find that the SUPER clinical results and longevity we get using the category leader(1) BOTOX following the treatment makes BOTOX works best for us.

There is a major difference in prices between the brands as well. Make sure you know and ask your practitioner what toxin they are using before booking your treatment.

BOTOX is a biologic product that cannot be interchanged – or substituted – for another product. In fact, the FDA has stated BOTOX is “non-interchangeable,” which means that its safety and effectiveness cannot be claimed by any other product. The potency – or strength – of BOTOX is measured in scientifically defined units that cannot be compared to any other product, due to our unique manufacturing process. There are no substitutes for Allergan BOTOX product.

People who are prescribed a biologic product have a right to know exactly what they are receiving. Be sure to ask which product you are being prescribed, administered and why.

BOTOX LONDON

Botox derives from a bacterium called Clostridium botulinum. This bacterium is present in many natural settings, including soil, lakes, forests, and in the intestinal tracts of mammals and fish.

Naturally occurring Clostridium botulinum bacteria and spores are generally harmless. Problems only arise when the spores transform and the cell population increases. At a certain point, the bacteria begin producing botulinum toxin, the deadly neurotoxin responsible for botulism.

Botulinum toxin is extremely toxic. In fact, some scientists have estimated that 1 gram (g) of crystalline toxin could kill 1 million people and a couple of kilograms could kill every human on earth.

However, according to the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, (AOCD), Botox is safe and has few side effects when used in a therapeutic context.

Manufacturers make Botox injections from very small doses of botulinum toxin. The drug can temporarily paralyze muscles, which can benefit a range of muscle- and nerve-related disorders.

Commercial versions of Botulinum toxin include:

  • Botox (onabotulinumtoxin A)
  • Dysport (abobotulinumtoxin A)
  • Xeomin (incobotulinumtoxin A)
  • Jeuveau (prabotulinumtoxin A)

People use the term BOTOX interchangeably for these various products, though “Botox” is the registered trademark of Allergan Inc. (Taken from: medicalnewstoday.com)

BOTOX LONDON

There are two reasons not to exercise right after Botox London treatments. You are allowed to resume exercise, for the most part except in special cases, the following day.

Exercise increases circulation in the body, including the face, which is why your face flushes and gets red when you work out. This increased circulation increase the risk that the Botox will be taken away from the injection zone before it gets fully absorbed into the neuromuscular junction.

Hence:

1) it may leave less Botox where we want it, and possibly decrease the effect, and

2) we do not want to do anything that increases the risk that the Botox will act anywhere other than where it is intended.

BOTOX LONDON TREATMENT & PRACTITIONER

RUPESH sees and injects BOTOX to all his patients himself. He has been injecting patients for more than 10 years.

In accordance with the GPhC regulations, all of his anti-wrinkle Botox treatments are carried out by Rupesh. Unlike many of the other clinics in Harley Street, he does your full consultation and then performs the treatment himself. The treatment is painless (aside from a slight prick as the needle is first inserted), due to the tiny acupressure size needles that we use.

Rupesh can administer Botox injections in just 15 minutes, making this a very quick and straightforward procedure. However, your comfort is always our top priority and you will never feel rushed. Every treatment is only given after a thorough face-to-face consultation with Rupesh, who will use his wealth of experience and training to assess your facial muscle tone and skin quality to ensure that you get the best treatment possible. Rupesh will also talk through your expectations, so that you get the results that you are dreaming of.

BOTOX LONDON TREATMENT & NAUSEA

Some patients wonder, can Botox make you nauseous? Though it is extremely uncommon, Botox can occasionally cause flu-like symptoms, which can include nausea. However, this side effect is rather uncommon, and typically patients will feel back to normal shortly after their treatment session.

BOTOX LONDON SIDE EFFECTS

We are able to offer a safe and successful treatment experience with Botox. However, many medical spas and “Botox London parties” offer Botox treatments with inexperienced injectors. This can lead to serious side effects. In these environments, health and safety are at greater risk, and the toxin could spread into the body. If you have recently received Botox injections from an inexperienced injector and are experiencing muscle weakness, blurred vision or double vision, difficulty breathing, difficulty speaking, painful urination, or urinary incontinence, contact a healthcare professional immediately.

Side effects caused by Botox injections typically resolve a few days after treatment. In rare cases, side effects such as droopy eyelids can last several weeks after treatment. Nevertheless, most side effects from Botox resolve on their own, within a few months, and are not permanent.

For many patients, long-term use of Botox can have wonderful effects. Particularly when it comes to cosmetic treatment. Continued use of Botox can help to relax the facial muscles and, in turn, reduce the severity of dynamic wrinkles. For many who continually use Botox in the form of micro-botox or touch-up injections, Botox actually can manage to “turn back the clock” on ageing, creating natural-looking rejuvenation thanks to Rupesh’s less-is-more philosophy and artful hand.

For patients who suffer from issues such as TMJ disorder, chronic migraines, or hyperhidrosis, a series of Botox treatments can help to permanently improve quality of life.

The cost of Botox Treatment in London can vary. The NHS website says that Botox Treatment prices range between £100 – £350 in the London.

However, figures can vary. Firstly, it depends on how many areas are being treated. While the prices may appear to start quite low, this may be for a very small dose. Also you must consider what brand of toxin is being injected and if its a medical or a non medical clinic.

At London Lip Clinic, the price of botox injections for lines and wrinkles start from £200 ranging up to £300 for the 3 common areas: Eyes, Frown & Forehead.

Botox has many side effects

The 3 most common side effects of Botox our patients complain about:

Mild pain & Swelling and Bruising are common after Botox injections. Even the smallest needle can cause bruising or swelling.

The 2 most popular area of administering BOTOX® in the face are:

  • Glabella lines (frown lines) are the vertical creases that appear between the eyebrows, generating a tired or angry look.
  • Forehead lines, also known as forehead wrinkles or ‘surprise lines,’ become more apparent as we age.

Getting Botox on the NHS is possible, but it is typically reserved for specific medical conditions rather than cosmetic purposes. Botox is approved on the NHS for conditions such as chronic migraines, severe sweating (hyperhidrosis), muscle spasms, and certain bladder issues.

To access Botox treatment through the NHS, patients in London or elsewhere need a referral from their GP or specialist, who will assess whether they meet the criteria for treatment. If approved, the NHS will cover the cost for these medical uses. For purely cosmetic Botox treatments, patients would need to seek private clinics like London Lip Clinic, as these are not covered by the NHS.

Botox has become a recognised treatment for cervicogenic headaches, which are headaches that originate from the neck due to issues with the cervical spine. Botox works by relaxing the muscles in the neck and shoulders that may be causing pain, reducing muscle tension, and preventing pain signals from being sent to the brain.

For patients in London experiencing chronic cervicogenic headaches, Botox injections can offer relief by targeting the root cause of the discomfort. The treatment typically lasts 3 to 4 months, and many patients notice a significant reduction in headache frequency and intensity. Botox is a non-invasive, effective option for managing cervicogenic headaches, making it a popular choice for those seeking long-term relief from persistent pain.

The most common 3 areas of Botox are the frown, forehead and crows feet lines.

Botox does help with Migraines. There is a more comprehensive Botox migraine treatment available.
