Typical side-effects associated with Profhilo Treatment are very similar to those experienced when having other types of dermal fillers administered. You may experience a little swelling and/or bruising in the areas you were treated. In extremely rare cases, some individuals experience an allergic reaction or an infection. Profhilo under eyes before and after

Profhilo is not recommended to be injected under the eyes. It accumulates water and causes puffiness.

In most cases, anaesthetic is not needed as part of Profhilo treatment. If you don’t like the sound of having treatment without anaesthetic, it’s a good idea to arrive at your appointment 30 minutes early. This way, the numbing cream will have enough time to work before your treatment is due to start.

In order to avoid bruising when your treatment is over, you can use Arnica drops for five days before your visit. As well as this, we recommend you stop using any supplements for 5 days before your appointment.  If you can, you should also avoid any medications which thin the blood. Ibuprofen, Aspirin and Naproxen should all be avoided. If you feel you would not be able to do this, you should see your doctor in advance. Lastly, it’s essential to avoid alcohol for at least 2 days before your appointment.

After your treatment, we advise you to stay out of the swimming pool, sauna or hammam for 3 days for better results. It’s essential to avoid sunbathing or sun exposure too for this amount of time with any cosmetic procedure. For the first 48 hours after treatment, you are going to need to avoid undergoing any intensive treatments. This includes deep tissue massages, facial scrubs, peels, laser treatments and microdermabrasion.

There are rarely any complications involved with profhilo, however, there is a minimal chance of having an inflammatory reaction to the treatment. This may include itchiness or pain due to reddening of the skin and some swelling in places. Symptoms such as these will typically subside in 3 to 5 days.

In some instances, small bumps appear from where the tiny needle went in. In other cases, there is also hardened skin in these areas. If you have any concerns because your symptoms are taking more time than 3 to 5 days to subside, your medical practitioners will be able to address your questions.
