Aqualyx: Fat Dissolving Injections in London
"EXPERIENCE A NON-INVASIVE SOLUTION TO DISSOLVE AND DESTROY FAT CELLS PERMANENTLY".
AQUALYX is a non-surgical treatment that dissolves localised fat deposits which are not responsive to diet and exercise. It is not a weight loss treatment, but a body shaping treatment. Clinically, Aqualyx has been found to be safe and effective with virtually very little downtime. We discuss the fat loss injection treatment below.
What is Aqualyx made of?
AQUALYX is an injectable treatment of 12alfa-dihydroxy-5beta-24-oico cholanic acid sodium salts, which is a modified compound of cholanic acid. It is not a simple solution of deoxycholate. Deoxycholic acid has been used in various fields of human medicine since its discovery. Present also in the human body, deoxycholic acid is used in the emulsification of fats for the absorption in the intestine.
What is it used for?
AQUALYX which are Fat Dissolving Injections can be used to treat stubborn fat pockets in a number of areas, including the hips, thighs and knees, the area underneath the buttocks, the stomach and back and the chin and the area underneath the chin. It is used to treat pockets of fat that are difficult to remove through diet and exercise alone. Aqualyx is not a weight loss solution.
Areas commonly treated with Aqualyx Fat Dissolving Injections include:
- the “saddle bags” (outer thighs)
- thighs
- underarms
- stomach and lower abdomen
- double chin and jowls
- knees
- pseudo-gynaecomastia (the male condition more commonly known as “man-boobs”)
What does it do?
Once administered into the problem area, AQUALYX liquefies the targeted fat cells. The lipids (in this case, the liquefied fat) are then flushed out naturally — and permanently — by your body’s lymphatic system. We use a specialised elastic needle, which makes the procedure more comfortable. Even small areas, such as double chin and jowls, can be tackled with ease.
Who makes Aqualyx?
AQUALYX Fat Dissolving Injections are manufactured by the Italian firm Marllor and was first launched in the UK in 2013.
How does Aqualyx work?
How effective is Aqualyx?
AQUALYX injection targets small pockets of fat and can’t be used over large areas. But it’s considered suitable for removing fat from stubborn areas like thighs, inner thighs, jowls, stomach, hips, back and knees. Because the fat cells are destroyed, the effects are permanent, but patients are advised to stick to a healthy diet and exercise, as they can still gain fat in untreated areas. Aqualyx is a fat loss injection treatment that is highly effective.
How long does it take to work?
AQUALYX Fat Dissolving Injections begin to work straight away, albeit at a gradual pace. A reduction in fat deposits can be usually be visible in the following weeks after your first treatment. This varies from person to person and can take from anything between three to six weeks. Aqualyx is a cumulative treatment, with results improving after each session until you have reached your goals.
How long does Aqualyx last?
Although Aqualyx Fat Dissolving Injections destroy fat permanently, you should follow a healthy lifestyle in order to stop any new fat building up again. Hence Aqualyx fat injections destroy fat cells permanently.
Are fat dissolving injections permanent?
AQUALYX fat loss injections give you lasting results. “Once the fat cell is destroyed it’s permanent. However, if there are remaining fat cells, these can still get bigger.” So, that means, the same fat cells won’t return but if you were to gain weight then other fat cells can still grow bigger and increase in size.
Aqualyx vs. Liposuction?
AQUALYX treatment will help get rid of body fat which is an effective alternative to liposuction. The treatment involves injections that break down cells that you then pass through urine. A water solution is injected into problematic areas around the body like thighs, stomach, knees, chin, buttocks, stomach, back and even your neck, breaking down excess fat cells, allowing the body to absorb them into the bloodstream and then pee them out. This is a non-surgical alternative.
In liposuction, fat is removed from different parts of the body through cosmetic surgery. This is a surgical procedure.
Aqualyx vs. Kybella
Both Aqualyx and Kybella achieve the same results in dissolving fat that is difficult to burn through exercise and dieting. Aqualyx is similar to Kybella, where Aqualyx is a compounded solution from the Deoxycholate family and Kybella is Deoxycholic acid.

Procedure
Aqualyx how to inject?
Rupesh will perform the treatment with a thin, flexible cannula. Aqualyx is then injected directly into the subcutaneous fat tissue. After the treatment the area may be red, swollen, bruised and feel hot. All of these expected side effects will subside within a few days.
How many treatment are needed?
The number of treatments differs from person to person, depending upon treatment area and size. Generally 3 to 5 treatments in intervals of 6 to 8 weeks can be expected, however less or more may be required.
What does Aqualyx treatment feel like after?
Once the local anaesthetic starts to wear off you may feel quite tender. The treated area will look swollen initially, but you should expect this swelling to double in size within the first 24-48 hours. The swelling will go down over the course of the next week, although in rare cases may persist longer. The more you swell the more you are responding to treatment. The treated area will look red and feel warm afterwards, and this may persist for 2 days. You may develop some bruising in the treated area, may feel itchy, and may have some minor aches and pains.
How many Aqualyx sessions? How many sessions of Aqualyx do you need?
Most patients will notice a change after two treatments at around the 4-6 week mark. Once the fat stores have dissolved, the results are permanent. It also depends on what part of the body is fat dissolved in? Double Chin or Stomach ?
